Ros and Den, welcome you to ‘Casa Rosden’, our holiday hideway set in the peaceful village of Cochões, close to the Knights’ Templar city of Tomar, in Central Portugal.

Our holiday accommodation is suitable for couples who are looking to explore the ‘delights’ of rural Portugal, relax and unwind by the pool, or for those who are hoping to find their own ‘holiday hideaway’ or ‘retirement’ home, here in Central Portugal.

Casa Rosden is located just over an hour and a half away by car, from the capital Lisbon and it’s airport, or around two and a half hours from Porto. If it is more suitable, you can take the train, from either Lisbon or Porto airports to nearby Tomar or Entroncamento.

We would like very much to make sure that your holiday with us is definately ‘One to Remember’. We can help you with ideas of where to go and what to do. If you need flowers for that Special Birthday or Anniversary, we can arange that for you too. We can organise a romantic meal for two, and help you with any ‘extras’ that you need to make YOUR holiday, a special one full of happy memories.

There are several places to visit and explore here in Central Portugal, Coimbra, Constancia, Castelo do Bode, Dornes, Golega, Óbidos, to name but a few. Nazaré, Peniche and Figueira Da Foz, on the coast are also within easy reach by car, as is the ‘holy’ shrine of Fatima. Why not spend a day at Portugal’s largest caves, or visit the Gothic Monastry at Batalha. The list is endless.

When you return from a day’s sightseeing you can relax on one of our sunloungers by the pool or sit under the Pergola with a glass of wine, before sampling one of the local Restaurants that we can recommend to you.

Or if you would prefer to eat here ‘Al Fresco’, why not cook on the BBQ. There is a delicious abundance of fresh food to be sampled from the local market.

• Guests have their own keys to the private entrance of the Casa Rosden Annexe Accommodation which is at ground floor level.
• The new kitchen area is well equipped - fridge, microwave, 2 ring electric hob, kettle & toaster, with ample crockery, glasses, cutlery and utensils. There is a retro glass table & chairs for dining inside.
• The lounge area has 2 comfortable armchairs and a TV Cabinet with TV/satellite box with English programmes (no need to miss those favourite soaps!). Wireless Internet access is provided for those important E-mails home.
• The single bedroom is equipped with a comfortable double bed, wardrobe with plenty of hangers, bedside cabinets with drawers, bedside lamps and radio alarm.
• The en-suite bathroom is fully tiled with shower cabinet, WC and wash hand basin, with mirror and light over, storage trolley and a hairdryer.
• The patio doors have a blind and electronic night shutters. There are electric convector heaters for winter use and an electric fan in summer.
• The 10 x 4 metre swimming pool, installed in 2008, has a poolside shower and is on a sunbathing terrace with sunbeds and parasols.
• There is a barbeque with fryer for alfresco dining with eating areas and seating. The recently completed extension to the BBQ area provides a small electric oven and grill, and increases the comfort and provides more shade for our guests.
• All towels (including pool towels), tea towels and bedding are supplied.
• A Welcome Pack is provided on arrival for stays of a week or more (fresh fruit, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, bottled water and a choice of red, white or rosé wine.
• A washing machine is available on Tuesday and Saturday. Iron and ironing board are available.
• There is a large, secure off-road parking area for guests.
